60 years after its launch, the Series 7 is as current as ever. Taking inspiration from Jacobsen’s original colour palette, two anniversary editions of the iconic chair have been created, one masculine and one feminine.
This being the masculine, with shell in rich indigo blue and legs in a brown powder coated burnished finish. The effect is one of elegance and the idea is that the masculine nature of this design would not only enhance a masculine setting but alternatively strike a fascinating contrast within a more feminine context. The chairs are designed both to stand out on their own and to complement one other and the space in which they sit.
In keeping with the celebration these colours are only available in 2015 and each chair has a golden plate mounted on the underside of the shell.
Arne Jacobsen was one of Denmark’s most influential 20th century architects and designers. Jacobsen’s buildings and products meld modernist ideals with a Nordic love of naturalism.
Arne Jacobsen is synonymous with stunning Danish designer chairs and lighting. His most iconic designs include the Fritz Hansen Series 7 Chair, Egg Chair and the AJ Table Lamp for Louis Poulsen.
