This simple and honest item of furniture was originally designed by young designer Frank Flavell. In collaboration with &Then Design, the trio devised a range of furnishings, from the original side table to side console and finally a shelving unit.
The leaning man uses the wall to hold itself in position. The ash frame supports both the box and the entire unit at an angle that make it extremely difficult to disturb.
& Then Design has been making rapid and exciting progress since their launch in 2008. A strong friendship and a passion for design have created this vibrant and innovative design studio/shop, based in Nottingham,UK.
A collaboration between Samuel Wright and Jamie Bowler, & Then Design strive to design practical furniture that also personifies eccentricity and a sense of fun. Key to the company’s ethos is the creating a quality product, using traditional craftsman’s methods and manufacturing in the UK.
