Story
Utilising unorthodox materials to create a sculpturally beautiful light source, the Artemide Mendori Table Lamp is part of the IN-EI Collection, Japanese for 'shadow, shadiness and nuance'. Inspired by the intersection of creativity and mathematics combined with an innovative approach to the material and design, each piece is curated using 2 or 3D mathematic principles, where light and shade harmoniously alternate. Boasting an enduring structure that holds its shape without the need for an internal frame, it can be re-shaped when needed and easily stored flat when not in use.

After founding the Miyake Design Studio in 1970, Issey Miyake started to present his collections in Paris in 1973. Miyake enjoyed exploring the space created between the body and the cloth surrounding it. Miyake has always cast his eye towards the future of design, and attempted to push the boundaries of contemporary design.
His focus on versatility and functionality ensure that his designs possess a timeless appeal, and today his work with his research and development team, Reality Lab, allows him to continue exploring new possibilities in creating and designing beautiful, practical objects, with a focus on producing them sustainably.
