A beautifully considered piece, this chair was first designed in 1948 and presented at the New York Museum of Modern Art competition for ‘Low-Cost Furniture Design’. Now made from recycled material, the DAW armchair offers even greater seating comfort.
Vitra has retained the Eames’s idea of combining a comfortable seat with different bases, in order to achieve the widest possible number of uses for the chair, making the chair suitable for the home, cafés, offices, lobbies or waiting rooms and training areas. This chair is part of the Eames collection of shell chairs.
