Cappellini inherited the design in 1993 and today Proust Geometrica, upholstered and hand-finished according to tradition, preserves the forms of the original armchair while refreshing them and breathing new life into the image and value of the original design.

Italian designer and architect Alessandro Mendini was born in Milan in 1931. Mendini's main focus was designing Italian furniture and interiors in the neo-modern and contemporary style. Previously, he has managed design magazines such as Casabella, Modo and Domus and written numerous essays about his work and his own “Atelier Mendini”. He has designed pieces for Alessi, Philips, Cappellini and Magis which are now considered worldwide design icons of modern design.
