Boasting a highly distinct silhouette with sweeping curves and a high back, the Egg Chair is a design masterpiece and one of Arne Jacobsen’s most successful pieces. Commissioned for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Jacobsen experimented with wire and plaster to create the shell’s highly creative and flawless form, striving to provide a clear contrast with the modernist exterior of the hotel.
Set upon a star-shaped base finished in a special black PVD with a swivel and tilt mechanism, the Egg anniversary edition celebrates the legendary design with outstanding materials, including the beautiful Granite Brown upholstery from Kvadrat’s Vanir collection.

Arne Jacobsen was one of Denmark’s most influential 20th century architects and designers. Jacobsen’s buildings and products meld modernist ideals with a Nordic love of naturalism.
