Materials & finishes
Shell padded with cold-cured polyurethane foam. Star-shaped base consisting of a satin-chromed steel tube connected to a base in satin polished aluminium, available in various fabric finishes. Feet are made of polyamide. Upholstered in Kvadrat Hallingdal 65 (70% wool, 30% viscose) fabric.

Story

Originally designed for the iconic SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Jacobsen desired to create a piece that contrasted with the rigid modernist exterior of the building, prompting the creation of the Egg™ Chair, a design that is defined by soft and organic curves. The sculptural shape creates a refuge of exceptional comfort, emphasising the importance of relaxation and personal privacy.

Boasting an adjustable tilt mechanism, the Egg Chair caters to the individual’s seating needs whilst featuring a timeless and carefully constructed shell. Part of the Fritz Hansen Egg™ collection, the chair can be purchased on its own or with a matching footstool for maximum relaxation and support.
