The idea for the Blow chair evolved from a wish to improve and industrialize the expensive process of upholstery of furniture, where much of the work is done by hand. Blow designers Foersom and Hiort-Lorenzen have taken on the challenge of reversing the upholstery process in order to facilitate mass production. Instead of sewing the fabric and stuffing it, the mould is covered with the sewn fabric and liquid foam is shot into the upholstery. This is a technology also used by the car industry to make seats firm but without losing the softness.

As a result of many years within the design industry, Peter Hiort-Lorenzen and Johannes Foersom are two of Denmark’s most recognised and established furniture designers.
Together they are Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen, and with a shared love for innovation, craftsmanship and functionality, they have received numerous national and international design awards.
