Originally designed in 1959 to complement the iconic X Chair, the X Table draws inspiration from ancient Egyptian folding chairs, a significant source of reference throughout the Danish designers’ illustrious careers. Characterised by its striking X-profile and slanted tabletop edges which pay homage to Japanese woodworking techniques, its refined mid-century aesthetic remains as relevant today as it was many decades ago.
Based on the same design principles as the X chair, consciously using natural materials to create functional art, the X Coffee Table provides ample space for four people and serves as the perfect platform for enjoying light snacks and drinks in any living room or lounge area.

Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) and Orla Molgaard-Nielsen (1907-1993) were pioneers of Danish mid-century design and the founders of Copenhagen-based firm Hvidt & Molgaard.
Renowned for the simplicity of their works, the duo established a simple and precise aesthetic designing countless pieces of furniture over the years, many of which became icons of the era. Today, their work can be found exhibited at MoMA, Melbourne’s National Gallery, and Copenhagen’s Design Museum.
