First produced in 1953, the elegant table takes inspiration from the playful, geometric design of a pinwheel toy. Designed to be able to form a larger rounded pinwheel structure, composed of six individual tables neatly slotting together, the result is an elegant, shield-shaped structure that can act as a stylish coffee table. Whether purchased as a set or individually, the highly versatile, sleek design can be placed throughout the home, utilized together as a console, or even configured into the shape of a snake or flower. Designed for flexible living and to adapt with a space over time, the table is available in Oiled Oak, Soaped Oak or Oiled Walnut, paired with brass or stainless steel legs.
Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) and Orla Molgaard-Nielsen (1907-1993) were pioneers of Danish mid-century design and the founders of Copenhagen-based firm Hvidt & Molgaard.
Renowned for the simplicity of their works, the duo established a simple and precise aesthetic designing countless pieces of furniture over the years, many of which became icons of the era. Today, their work can be found exhibited at MoMA, Melbourne’s National Gallery, and Copenhagen’s Design Museum.
