Designed as part of Day’s first low-cost furniture collection for Hille in 1951, the Daystak Table works perfectly with the Daystak Side Chair and Desk. Showcasing the same signature, A-shaped legs as the other pieces, the table sits in tandem with the rest of the collection to create a distinctly mid-century ensemble.
The table comes in solid beech, with or without a Fenix Nano laminate top in shade Verde Comodoro, and it has a unique stacking capability (a maximum of three) for convenient storage.
Wanting to keep the collection’s essence intact, &Tradition worked with the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation to ensure all reissued pieces remain as true to the original design as possible, including only minor adjustments to meet the needs and impact considerations for 21st-century users.
Born in 1915 in Hertfordshire, British furniture designer Robin Day won a scholarship to his local art school in the early 1930's and worked for a brief period in a local furniture factory before going to the Royal College of Art. Over the last 50 years Robin Day has designed furniture for many important buildings in the UK and abroad, including concert halls and theatres, airports, stations and stadiums. His design influence has had impact on every day life, with his pioneered development of injection moulded plastic one-piece chairs. Tens of millions of Robin Day chairs have been sold bringing design innovation to a truly global audience.
