Named after the historic northern Tuscan city of Lucca, a word that resembles the Italian term for “light”, the inspiration for the design came from the beautiful golden glow found in the picturesque coastal towns and quaint countryside across the Mediterranean. Defined by a soft, rounded opal glass structure, contained by sleek black metal curves, the stylish, compact design creates an inviting, relaxing lighting ambience.
Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, the versatile piece can be picked up and moved to illuminate an outdoor dining space, placed on a side table in a living room, or hooked on a wall in a bedroom.
Space Copenhagen was founded in 2005 by designers Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou.
The studios work covers multiple disciplines from furniture, lighting and refined objects, to art installations, art direction and interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants all over the world.
