Story

Kanto is designed to hold an array of objects, from your favourite magazines to wood for your fire. Honouring Artek’s tradition of bentwood products, this versatile piece is made from a single sheet of form-pressed birch veneer. Its fluid lines make it a natural addition to a wide range of diverse interiors, while the timeless nature of the design means that it will remain a perennial favourite for generations to come.

Pancho Nikander

The Mexican-Finnish designer and boat builder Pancho Nikander was born in Mexico in 1981, but now lives in Finland.

His most popular work is the versatile Kanto magazine/firewood rack designed for Artek in 2004.
