Part of a collection of decorative ornaments, inspired by a set of gifts the Finnish delegation brought to Japan in 1919 to inaugurate Finnish-Japanese diplomatic relations, Secrets of Finland celebrates seasonal rituals belonging to the Finnish calendar. The Easter Witch and Dog mark the Finnish rite of spring, with children welcoming the end of winter by decorating willow twigs with feathers and small embellishments. Dressing up as witches, they then go door to door to wish their neighbours a healthy year and receive treats in return for their blessing.
A unique vase steeped in history, the decorative design is perfect for elegantly displaying a single plant or flower stem.
Finnish design studio, COMPANY is made up of Aamu Song and Johan Olin.
