Like the other members of the Vass family, the Asplund 60:180 Sideboard expertly blends form and function to create a striking piece of minimalist furniture. The striated pattern neatly conceals the lines created by the doors to create a single unbroken surface. Perched on a solid wood stand, the sideboard has been imbued with a sense of weightlessness by Claesson Koivisto Rune, creating an intriguing gap beneath the main body.
Behind the four doors are two compartments with one shelf each. These capacious containers are perfectly sized for a wide variety of different objects. Holes have been cut in the backboard to allow you to thread cables through.
The Swedish design partnership Claesson Koivisto Rune was founded in 1995 as an architectural office but is, in the classic Scandinavian way multi-disciplinary, which means that they practice both architecture and design.
Furniture designs by Marten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune are produced by companies such as Almedahls, Atelje Lyktan (Floor- and table lamp Berlin), Asplund, Boffi, Cappellini, David design, Dune, E&Y, Franc franc, Iren Uffici, Living Divani, Nola, Offect, Sfera Products, Skandiform, Swedese among others.
