The low-voltage Bocci 14.1 pendant is designed to be composed in atmospheric configurations. Each pendant is an articulated, cast glass sphere with a frosted cylindrical void that houses the bulb.
The 14.1m uses strain relief connections, which allow the pendant lengths to be adjusted on site.
The ‘m’ designation in this 14 variant refers to the mini canopy size. The mini canopy is just over 2.9cm in diameter and 1.3cm deep, which creates a subtle profile that will essentially disappear into the application surface.
Bocci Creative Director Omer Arbel explores the intrinsic mechanical, physical, and chemical qualities of materials as fundamental departure points for making work. His interdisciplinary practice spans multiple scales and cultural-economic contexts to include architecture, industrial design, materials research, sculpture, invention, and high craft manufacturing. Arbel’s work has been exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Spazio Rossana Orlandi, Mallett, and the Monte Clark Gallery, among others.
