Extrapolating from the classic, sculptural shape of the Shoemaker stool, Mogens Lassen has created a striking piece of timeless design, one that endured for over eight decades. Painstakingly crafted in solid wood, the stool features the iconic curved seat that hugs the contours of the body, providing exceptional comfort without the need for foam or fabric. The T-shaped support provides an impromptu footrest while adding a touch of sleek modernity to the design.
Danish Architect Mogens Lassen produced simple, functional wooden furniture pieces which have gone on to become furniture icons.
After attending school with his brother (Flemming Lassen) and Arne Jacobsen, Mogens also went on to join the studio of architect Tyge Hvass. Mogens Lassen brought international fame to Danish design with countless awards and medals, including the C.F. Hansen Medal, Denmark’s highest architectural honour.
