Combining the uncomplicated principles of the Shaker style with the Danish modern movement, Borge Mogensen has created a democratic and functional piece of furniture in the Carl Hansen & Son BM0700 Asserbo Bench.
Part of the Asserbo collection, the bench is a stripped-back version of the BM0699, providing a low-profile seat that adds a sense of calmness and relaxation to your dining spaces. The use of solid wood makes the piece effortlessly timeless, set to become an integral part of your home for years to come.
Borge Mogensen (1914–1972) started his career as a cabinetmaker in 1934.
In 1936 he went on to study at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts under Professor Kaare Klint before entering the Royal Academy of Fine Arts from where he graduated as an architect in 1942. He became head of design at FDB (the Danish co-op) in 1942 before establishing his own design office in 1950.
