A light and sculptural chair, based on the ideas and shapes which are typical of Wegner’s best designs, the CH33P has character and a clear organic aesthetic. The chair’s height, depth and angles are carefully considered to fit and support the occupant, in line with the curves of the human body. The padded, Thor leather upholstery, accentuates the level of comfort and its luxurious appeal.
The iconic curved backrest made from form-pressed veneer features visible round cover caps that bring an attractive detail and a contrast in tone. Originally designed in 1957, this classic chair began production once again in 2012 and remains as relevant today as it was more than half a century ago. The CH33P Dining Chair is available in soaped, oiled or black oak finish with a variety of upholstery colours to choose from, lending itself to fit harmoniously into range of modern interiors. Also available with a wooden seat.
With his love of natural materials and his deep understanding of the need for furniture to be functional as well as beautiful, Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) made mid-century Danish design popular on an international scale. He began his career as a cabinetmaker in 1931 and subsequently entered the Copenhagen School of Arts & Crafts. After receiving his architectural degree in 1938, he worked as a designer in Arne Jacobsen and Erik Muller's architectural office before establishing his own office in 1943.
