Characterised by designer Fritz Hennigsen’s use of soft, elegant lines, the FH419 Heritage Chair celebrates French Imperial and 17th-century British styles. These classic design elements blend with modern construction techniques to create a comfortable and inviting seat, imbued with reassuring solidity by a carefully crafted beech frame. The colourful Kvadrat upholstery adds a touch of modernity, breathing life into this classic design, helping it fit with contemporary design sensibilities.
Frits Henningsen (1889-1965) was known as an uncompromising designer. He viewed quality craftsmanship as the most important element of his work, making it his focus when developing new furniture.
In his designs he was able to capture traditional expressions from other style periods and reinterpret them with a modern and organic flavour. Drawing inspiration form earlier styles such as French Empire, Rococo and the British 17th-century furniture.
Henningsen saw himself as constantly developing with great attention to detail, and due to this permitted only very few of his furniture pieces to be produced outside his own workshop. Carl Hansen & Son was shown this trust.
