Like the 1958 original, the Cherner Side Chair employs the technical construction of moulded plywood to create the iconic curves, supported by slender laminated legs. Manufactured from the original moulds, designs, and specifications the Cherner Side Chair showcases the seamless shell with simplistic yet contemporary leather seat upholstery artfully placed to highlight the chair's defining 'wasp waist'. Available in a range of stunning wood finishes with Camo Sierra Leather padding, the side chair retains the classic aesthetic with an added element of durability.

Norman Cherner
Norman Cherner studied and taught at the Columbia University Fine Arts Department and was an instructor at the Museum of Modern Art in New York from 1947 to 1949. At the same time he also began his practice, embarking on a lifetime exploration of multidisciplinary design. Although best known for his furniture design, his work included almost all aspects of design: from graphics, glassware and lighting, to his pioneering work in prefabricated housing.
