Named after the fictitious English village conceptualised by writer Ronald Blythe, the Akenfield Blanket draws from the intimacy and portrait of human nature observed in the novel. Characterised by the simple broken grid pattern upon a dotted stitch, the mix of vivid red tones create a striking composition against the contrasting buckwheat hue. Available in two sizes, the blanket is a comforting accessory, fitting seamlessly with a number of aesthetics.

My work often has a mid-century quality and I feel a strong affinity for the aesthetics and design philosophy of this era. Alongside this runs a deep interest in vernacular British textiles and I see much of my work as a re-interpretation of these traditions and techniques for a contemporary audience.”
