Combining a circular solid wood tabletop with a delicate steel stem, the Fredericia Pal Side Table has an almost balletic poise.
Inspired by classic serving tray designs, the tabletop perches gracefully atop the slender stem, giving the whole design a sense of lightness. Keiji Takeuchi believes that simplicity is the only path to sophistication, a philosophy embodied by the pure form of the Pal Side Table.
Born in Fukuoka, Japan, Keiji Takeuchi spent his formative years in New Zealand, where he completed his studies in Product Design.
After completing his education, he began working for Naoto Fukasawa in Tokyo, before moving to Milan to head up Fukasawa’s European office. In 2014 he began his career as an influential solo designer. With a truly global outlook, Takeuchi’s work transcends culture and language. The absence of ostentation and superfluous elements create sophisticated objects that revel in the beauty of simplicity.
