The first model of the Lily™ chair was designed by Jacobsen in 1968, with it later being introduced to the market at the Danish Furniture Fair in 1970. Originally designed for the Danish National Bank, the chair is defined by a beautifully slender, sculptural seat shell, crafted from layered veneer to form a highly durable, long-lasting structure.
Comfortable and timeless in style, the chair is available in an elegant walnut finish, with a special anniversary tag mounted underneath the seat. Perfect for use as a dining chair, the design celebrates expert craftsmanship and adaptable, contemporary design. Also available, the Fritz Hansen Lily Armchair.
Arne Jacobsen was one of Denmark’s most influential 20th century architects and designers. Jacobsen’s buildings and products meld modernist ideals with a Nordic love of naturalism.
Arne Jacobsen is synonymous with stunning Danish designer chairs and lighting. His most iconic designs include the Fritz Hansen Series 7 Chair, Egg Chair and the AJ Table Lamp for Louis Poulsen.
