When you’re dealing with a Jaime Hayon creation, you know to expect unique, intriguing designs that are both versatile and beautiful. The Fritz Hansen Objects Low Vase is no different. It’s dual-material configuration - hand-blown smoked glass for the vase, with a solid cedar wood base - harmoniously unites two contrasting materials, leaving a finished product that is aesthetically pleasing, highly functional and timelessly stylish.
Spanish artist and industrial designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974.
In 1997, he began working as a researcher at Fabrica, Benetton Group’s communication and research centre in Treviso, Italy. 2004 saw the start of Hayon’s individual career and he has kept himself busy with a spectrum of eclectic projects. From toys, to modern furniture and interior design as well as artistic installations, his boldness has been to transcend the borders of the often separated worlds of art and design, comfortably bridging the two whilst embedding them with his own unique style.
