A steel structure of two parts, the PK22™ was created through Kjaerholm’s search for the ideal form. A true masterpiece of modern design with strong industrial influences, the PK22™ lounge chair exudes contemporary sophistication with added depth. The profile of the steel frame structure originates from a Poul Kjaerholm graduation project, consequently catapulting his career to the highest level. Carefully developed over time, the singular piece frame has evolved, now offering one seat and one back piece mounted upon a satin-brushed sprung steel base: elegantly evolved whilst becoming increasingly economical.
The configuration of the chair makes it the ideal minimalist piece for many situations, adding a touch of iconic style and design to a living room, dining space or bedroom. Also available in a wicker configuration.
Poul Kjaerholm was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a particular interest in different construction materials; especially steel which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials.
