With no physical connection between the main parts of the chair, the PK24™ functions by suspending a central body between two solid points. A paramount example of Kjaerholm’s iconic work the PK24™ or 'Hammock Chair' is based upon a principle of designing using only separate elements. Inspired by the elaborate Rococo period the chaise longue features an organic shape and effortless curve in a combination of materials. Soft leather meets industrial steel to create an adjustable piece, that optimizes true comfort. A design recognised across the globe the PK24™ Chaise Longue supplements a touch of iconic style to both classic and contemporary interiors, also available in a Wicker configuration.
Poul Kjaerholm was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a particular interest in different construction materials; especially steel which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials.
