Made from 100% New Zealand wool with a cotton backing, the Colour Carpet is Scholten & Baijings’s first rug collection for HAY. Defined by a distinct, graphic expression, the rug adds a comforting and playful dimension to an interior space. Using a palette of calming colours, the rug's design is sure to coordinate with a range of differently styled environments.
Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings established Scholten & Baijings, Studio for Design, in 2000.
Stefan Scholten is a graduate of the Design Academy in Eindhoven, The Netherlands and Carole Baijings is autodidact in the design field. In their designs Scholten & Baijings make use of grids, light effects, colour, transparency and layered patterns. In addition, minimal design and a keen eye for detail characterize their work. The duo has gained international recognition for their graphic designs using a combination of soft pastels and bright fluorescent colours.
