Sylvain Willenz’s design vision for the Rebar Collection explores the juxtaposition between materials and construction processes. The Rebar Coffee Table features a luxurious marble tabletop set upon a complementary reinforced steel bar frame, creating a refined and balanced aesthetic. The sleek and narrow footprint of the table allows it to be placed even in the smallest of living spaces, adding a touch of understated Danish elegance with an industrial edge.
Belgian designer Sylvain Willenz established his studio in Brussels in 2004.
His design office has won several iF Awards and the Red Dot “Best of the Best” Award in Product Design, he was named Belgian Designer of the Year in 2009 and regularly works in education for institutions such as ECAL and ENSAV La Cambre. His work spans various typologies and is often inspired by graphics, drawings and other 2D sources - he desires to create elegant and clean designs that are both unfamiliar and familiar. For HAY, Willenz has designed the Rebar Collection and Pyro Coffee Table.
