Originally designed in 1975, the durable design saw a pioneering use of corten steel, a material that was revolutionary at the time. This new, downscaled design is based on the same concept as the original Bysted, featuring the four innovative rings that redirect the light downwards, creating an inviting, warming glow at night.
A stylish and practical lighting solution, the design is just as beautifully suited to a natural setting as it is in an urban garden environment, perfect for entrance areas, gardens and roof terraces.

Danish designer Peter Bysted graduated as an architect and industrial designer from The Aarhus School of Architecture in 1978.
Three years prior, in a contest arranged by Louis Poulsen concerning the illumination of quarters worthy of preservation, he won second prize with ‘Bysted’, a bollard made from corten steel, suggesting his interest in lighting design even then. While a student he was also very interested in graphic design and it was the combination of these two fields that would later characterise his design and communicational firm Bysted A/S, established in Copenhagen in 1987.
