The NJP was designed by founder of Nendo, Oki Sato, as a tribute and new interpretation of the classic Anglepoise construct. The NJP Floor Lamp delivers two lighting options; one direct, for reading or studying and one ambient for relaxing in the lounge or bedroom. The NJP also has the ability to turn itself off, saving energy and money.
Behind the Nendo trademark is Oki Sato, the Japanese designer born in Canada in 1977. Sato graduated in 2000 from Tokyo’s Waseda University and went on to specialise in Architecture (2002). While still a student, in 2002, he won the Gold Medal at the Koizumi International Lighting Design show, in addition to many other awards.
Oki Sato founded Nendo Design Studio in 2002 and has since gone on to produce contemporary designs for Cappellini, Fritz Hansen, Wastberg and Louis Poulsen.
