The storage compartments are stacked vertically, and secured together by an aluminium cylinder. This serves as a pivot point that allows each drawer to rotate independently of the others, maximising the available storage space. German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich, Germany in 1965. After training as a cabinet maker at Parnham College in the UK he studied design at the Royal College of Art in London from 1988-1990. Since setting up his own design practice KONSTANTIN GRCIC INDUSTRIAL DESIGN (KGID) in Munich in 1991 he has developed contemporary furniture, products and designer lighting for international design brands such as Magis, Flos and Vitra.
Konstantin Grcic's most iconic and versatile designs include the Magis Chair One which can be used both indoors and out and the May Day Utility Lamp designed for Flos.
