Originally designed in 1958 by prominent Danish furniture designer and architect Børge Mogensen and Esben Klint, the Conscious Chair 3162 is a remarkable example of quintessential mid-century design. Representative of the unique insight and expertise of the two Danish designers, the chair is highly simplistic yet functional.
Newly relaunched using sustainably-driven materials, the 3162 sits at the cutting edge of the possibilities of the use of non-tradition materials in furniture production. With an FSC wooden frame, the seat and back are crafted from Mater Circular Materials, an innovative composition that combines coffee or wood waste with industrial plastic waste, providing an attractive and unique surface for the chair.
Two of Denmark’s most important and influential figures in design and architecture, Borge Mogensen and Esben Klint created several significant furniture pieces.
Working together during the 1960s, the Danish duo created school furniture, among other things.
