Designed by Rick Tegelaar, the chandelier’s breathtaking lightweight structure, created from controlled stretching of the mesh with uniquely developed tools, creates a refined graceful aesthetic that appears as light as a feather.
The layered mesh cones create a stunningly transparent visual effect that reflects and diffuses the light; illuminating the stunning graduated form and creating a radiant soft glow. Finished with delicate brass detailing, the light is an impactful statement that can elegantly fill a room.
Rick Tegelaar is an independent Dutch designer who works from his studio in Arnhem. Rick’s design philosophy focuses on utilising uncommon or undervalued materials like wire mesh and waste wood. Finding new shapes and forms to work with underpins much of Rick’s work, whose innovative approach and delicate sense of aesthetic understanding allows him to create truly wonderful pieces.
An industrial influence is apparent in many of Rick’s creations; evidence of a fascination with machinery and mechanical processes that stems from childhood. Rick Telegaar believes that through a combination of engineering and elegant design, a purer form of aesthetics can be achieved.
