Story

Through a meticulous design process, lasting almost two years, Muuto and Mika Tolvanen went through every curve, edge and detail over and over again. That is also why Mika Tolvanen chose the name Visu, - a reference to the Finnish word for precision.

Mika Tolvanen

Believing that good design starts with the function, Mika Tolvanen creates beautiful products that are simple, self-explanatory and each with an individual character.

After graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2001, Mika set up his own design studio in Helsinki, Finland. Based on Lauttasaari island, Mika and his wife Julie now create design products for both residential and contract use through Studio Tolvanen.
