Fusing tradition and modernity, the nanimarquina Melange Rug - Pattern 1 draws on the heritage and skills of Pakistani craftspeople to produce an authentic and contemporary rug that honours their ancestral traditions. Simplifying classic traditions and forms, the bold geometric patterns and pared-back colour palate of the rug integrate it with modern minimalist design while remaining true to the classic Kilim forms. The rug can be combined with other pieces from the Melange collection to create a giant patchwork effect, creating a unique landscape of texture and patterns.
Born in New York in 1963. She began her career as a fashion designer in Madrid in 1983, and in 1986 she produced and presented her fashion collections in Italy, obtaining international recognition. In 1992 she continued her career exclusively in Japan, with a line of fashion and home accessories and the young JOCOMOMOLA line. Since 1996 she has been designing for international brands specialised in design such as Santa and Cole, and Alessi.
