The central swatch of colour creates a wide expanse of meaning, inviting you to sit and bask in the warm tones or arrange objects within the space. Large patches of the complimentary colour border the central space, containing and enhancing it.
Claudia Valsells has departed from her usual discipline of mural painting to create a tapestry of meaning with the traditional hand-loomed kilim rug, produced by the talented artisans at nanimarquina. Woven from Afghan wool, the Tones 2 has a unique aged look.
Born in 1969, Claudia Valsells began her career as a mural painter.
Studying her craft at the Brussels-based Institute Superior de Peinture Van Der Helen et Logelain, Valsells’ style began to evolve. Revelling in the use of colour as a vehicle of expression and visual experience, she worked as an artist and colourist before exploring the fields of both architecture and interior design.
