Mario Bellini, born in Milan in 1935, is an architect, critic and designer. From 1959 to 1962 he collaborated as an architect with the Rinascente group. In this period he also taught at the Istituto Superiore di design in Venice. In 1963 he was team leader with Olivetti, for typewriters and computers, and during this time won various SMAU (Information and Communication Technology International Exhibition) awards for some projects.
Mario Bellini has worked with various significant industrial companies such as B&B, Cassina, Brionvega, Yamaha, Artemide, Flos, Vitra, Fiat, Lancia and Renault. The MOMA in New York holds 25 of Mario Bellini's projects and in 1987 dedicated a monographic exhibition to him.
