The defining feature of the Mat Armchair is its capacious curved shell, created from a unique blend of hemp fibres, eelgrass and a biodegradable polymer. The armchair represents years of research and development on the part of the designers and Normann Copenhagen, who have set out to revolutionise the conventional methods of furniture production.
As a result of many years within the design industry, Peter Hiort-Lorenzen and Johannes Foersom are two of Denmark’s most recognised and established furniture designers.
Together they are Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen, and with a shared love for innovation, craftsmanship and functionality, they have received numerous national and international design awards.
