Inspired by the slatted facades of Nordic summer houses, the Normann Copenhagen Rib Cabinet uses trapeze-shaped wooden panels to create an architectural effect in wood veneer. The harmonious aspect of the slats adds a sense of depth to the piece, creating a visual break in the uniform service.
Fitted with height-adjustable and removable shelves, the cabinet can be configured to store a variety of different objects. More compact than the sideboard, the cabinet is perfect for storing clothes in the bedroom, or cutlery and tableware in a dining room.

“Honesty is what makes a product understandable, and is what describes functionality of the products. If you understand the product, it doesn’t need any explanation. The essence of my design is for it to be bought and used. Therefore it has to satisfy not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological- and aesthetic needs. For me simplicity describes the true identity of objects, and makes them trustworthy. In my designs I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression.”
