In 1969 Simon Karkov designed his visionary lamp, the 69 Lampshade. But for many years the lamp was left lying in a loft, where it remained undiscovered. Then in 2001 an acquaintance of the designer saw the prospect of a collaboration between Normann Copenhagen and Simon Karkov - only then was this now-classic design retrieved from the loft.
The Norm Lampshade is made from 69 individual parts and is a strong, robust and flexible lamp. It can withstand excessive temperature swings and can be put together without tools or glue.

Simon Karkov graduated in architecture from The Danish Academy of Architecture. Since the sixties he has been working for several architecture offices in Denmark. Today Simon is enjoying his retirement in Turkey working on smaller projects. He is inspired by nature and the geometric patterns that occur within flowers, as reflected in his designs.
