Made exclusively from either stainless steel or brass plated steel mesh, the shade has a metallic appearance that shimmers as light shines through. The pendant changes in appearance as the light source within it begins to glow, and when the power is off, the shade’s semi-transparent shape resembles a silvery cloud hovering above the room. Available in two sizes, the small version can be installed individually, or combined to form a group that mimics a cluster of clouds. The large size reveals Heat’s statement-making potential, drawing attention to the ceiling as it spreads and diffuses light throughout the room.
Swedish designer Johanna Fosberg specialises in forming shapes and sculptures out of steel mesh.
She produced her first design at only seventeen years of age and has been working with the material ever since. Fosberg has collaborated for various brands, one of her most famous designs is the Heat Pendant for Norwegian brand Northern.
