A heavy base anchors the Balancer, with the shade acting as a counterweight, expressing the concept of balance within the piece. A black, powder-coated steel finish and glass diffuser highlights the Balancer’s contemporary elegance and fosters an appreciation of the clean lines and geometric shapes evident in its form. Interactivity has also been considered in this distinct floor lamp; by turning the swivel key, light can be cast upwards to illuminate your space, or downwards to create an atmospheric, balanced ambience. Yuue consists of Chinese design duo Weng Xinyu and Tao Haiyue; both graduates of the famed Bauhaus University, Weimar, in Germany. Much of Yuue’s work is centred on interactivity and user experience, with a secondary focus on invoking emotion through design, by forging connections with the user’s body and mind.
Yuue are set to continue impressing, having recently been named in the top 50 design studios in Germany by Architectural Digest, as well as featuring in a number of industry exhibitions and events. As their Berlin-based studio continues to create original and innovative products, further recognition and praise is sure to follow.
