Inspired by the Tivoli amusement park in central Copenhagen, Sofie Refer’s latest piece of sculptural lighting combines strikingly minimalist aesthetics with a bold use of cutting-edge lighting technology.
The scalloped armature extends out behind the spherical diffuser like a frilly collar, subtly hinting back at the lamp’s ringside origins. Within the diffuser, an LED bulb can cast a pool of soft, calming illumination. Whether used to brighten up a staircase, or to add an extra dimension to a living room, the lamp is ideally suited to a wide range of spaces and aesthetics.
Sofie Refer was born in Denmark, 1974. Between 1998 - 2003 she studied at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation - Institute of Product Design, Glass and Ceramics.
