Minimalist in its styling, the SCP Jethro Bench is cast from solid wood, and finished with deluxe detailing. The legs of the bench are connected with beautiful pegs crafted from wood which contrasts with that of the wood employed for the base, making for a very impressive piece. At once both simple and complex, Kay succeeds in her aim to create long-lasting pieces of furniture that place a strong emphasis on craftsmanship. British designer Sarah Kay focusses on her objective of longevity through quality design and quality craftsmanship.
She first set up her design studio in Hackney in 1996 before going on to found design partnership Kay+Stemmer. Now working independently, she creates furniture for manufacturers including SCP, Benchmark and Sitting Firm.
