    Materials & finishes
    Upholstered in Hopsak fabric with seat shell made from recycled post-consumer plastic (white seat is made from non-recylced material). Base in golden or dark maple. With felt glides for hard floor use.

    Story

    This chair was first designed in 1948 and presented at the New York Museum of Modern Art competition, ‘Low-Cost Furniture Design’. In this latest version made of polypropylene, the armchair now offers even greater sitting comfort. Vitra has retained Charles & Ray Eames’ idea of combining a comfortable seat with different bases, in order to achieve the widest use for the chair. With various bases, shell colours and upholstery options, the Eames Plastic Armchair is a truly versatile piece suited to the home, cafés, offices, lobbies and waiting rooms.
