Accentuating Prouve's philosophical aim of focusing on design factors, the Vitra Fauteuil Direction Armchair is perfect for a number of scenarios from the kitchen to the office, the latter environment in which it makes for a particularly neat combination with the Compas Direction Desk. Additionally, the Vitra Fauteuil Direction Armchair looks great in a number of other situations, such as lobby spaces, restaurants or waiting areas, and is complemented by the wider Fauteuil range.
Jean Prouve was born into an artistic family in Nancy, France. Prouve trained as a metalsmith before attending engineering school in Nancy, and his intimate knowledge of metal remained the foundation of his work and career.
