The Vitra Toolbox has long proven a favourite accessory of design lovers around the world. With its 8 compartments and generous layout, the Toolbox has proven a versatile item, whether on a desk, in a bathroom as a tidy, or maybe in a kitchen holding utensils. The new RE iteration of the iconic Vitra Toolbox is produced from recycled material and is 100% recyclable in and of itself. The Toolbox Re is available in a wide range of finishes, some with characterful speckles, a by-product of the recycling process involved in the manufacture of the piece, rendering each Toolbox wholly unique from one another.
The RE series from Vitra acts as a statement of intent regarding the future of furniture and homeware production.
Born in Tel Aviv, Arik left his graphic design studio and surf shop for Europe at the age of 27. He graduated with a distinction in Industrial Design from the Art Centre of Europe in Switzerland. He subsequently won the SeikoEpson Inc competition and took part in several design exhibitions in Japan.
Returning to Europe, Arik applied his innovative concepts and installations to contemporary dance and opera scenography around the world. The winner of many awards, his work has also been exhibited in numerous high profile fairs, galleries, museums and exhibitions. Innovation, simplicity and experimentation are the hallmarks of his work.
