Evidencing his deep love for modernist design, Alfredo Haberli has chosen an understated palette of monochrome colours, hand-picked to underscore the elegance of the Gesture chair, while adding a playful contemporary edge to the piece. Each colour has its own unique character, but they can still be combined together to create striking arrangements around a table.
The original Gesture Chair is a modernist design classic from Hans Olsen, an elegant and ergonomic dining chair rendered in beautiful solid wood. With a welcoming aspect, the chair is perfectly suited for use around a large table, or behind a desk in a living room.
Born in Buenos Aires in 1964, Alfredo Haberli is an award-winning designer based in Zurich. His collaboration with Warm Nordic has seen him curate a new colour palate for Hans Olsen’s classic designs. Showcasing his respect for modernist design and love for monochromatic colours, Haberli has carefully selected colours and textiles that perfectly compliment Olsen’s playful designs.
Hans Olsen’s work are perfect examples of 1950s Danish modernism, each piece imbued with an inventive playfulness that defines his experimental approach to furniture design. A student of Kaare Klint, Olsen’s work still espouses the classical virtues that underpin modernist principles.
