Constructed from a circle of tinted glass and a pair of elliptical wooden shapes, the Glyph Occasional Table uses bold graphical shapes to great effect, creating a sculptural piece of furniture that expertly balances striking aesthetics with robust functionality. Hoffman Kahleyss Design have collaborated with the talented artisans at Wendelbo to produce a contemporary masterpiece, exuding a sense of lightness enhanced by the glass top and the angled cutout in the base. Founded in Hamburg in 2013 by Birgit Hoffmann and Cristoph Kahleyss, Hoffman Kahleyss studio is a collaboration between two designers with an intuitive understanding of the other’s work.
The pair’s approach is deeply functionalist, balancing contrasting elements to create striking pieces of design. Each piece contains an unexpected detail, whether thats sophisticated indents in the upholstery, or metal struts with varying widths.
